A new memorial honoring Ukrainian tankers has been established in Kyiv at the Alley of Defenders, close to the Freedom Arch.
This was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their Facebook page.
“The memorial features a tank track breaking through enemy defenses. The base of the plaque is made of dark-toned brass with engraving filled with black paint,” the statement reads.
This marks the eleventh plaque in the Alley, dedicated to those without whom many military operations would be impossible.
Among those present at the event were: Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yevhen Moysiuk, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov, acting commander of training - Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces Leonid Khoda, and other representatives of the Ukrainian military and local authorities.
