The investigation into the murder of a prominent political figure in Lviv is currently underway.

This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

Investigative teams from the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, the Lviv police, the Security Service of Ukraine, and other relevant agencies are involved. Today, around noon, a report of gunfire was received at 102 in the Frankivsk district of Lviv. As a result of the injuries sustained, the victim died at the scene. It has been established that the deceased was a well-known political figure born in 1971.

The law enforcement agencies are taking all necessary measures to identify the shooter and locate him. All details will be disclosed in accordance with criminal procedural legislation.

Later, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko and the Attorney General Ruslan Riaboshapka briefed him on the initial details of the tragedy. As a result of the attack, Andriy Parubiy was killed. The head of state expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased and emphasized that all necessary forces are already engaged in the investigation and search for the murderer.
