Starting August 21, the National Bank of Ukraine will release new 20-hryvnia banknotes. The upper right corner on the reverse side will feature the patriotic slogan 'Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!'

This information was announced by the NBU press service.

All other design and security features will remain the same as those of the 2018 series banknotes, which are detailed on the official website of the National Bank.

The NBU will support banks and cash processing companies with the new 20-hryvnia banknotes starting August 21 for further distribution to clients and to replace worn, damaged, or withdrawn banknotes.

Citizens will not need to exchange the previous series 20-hryvnia banknotes for the new ones, according to the National Bank.

'As a legal means of payment, these new banknotes will circulate alongside other banknotes of the same denominations from previous years and must be accepted at their nominal value by all individuals and legal entities throughout Ukraine', the statement reads.
