Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held discussions with Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov regarding Ukraine's preparedness to initiate negotiations for EU accession.
This announcement was made by the head of government via Telegram.
«I had a meeting with Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. Ukraine has fulfilled all technical requirements and is ready to open the first three negotiation clusters with the EU: «Foundations», «Internal Market», and «External Relations». By early September, the EU will be able to decide on the opening of the first cluster. This will be a significant step in supporting Ukraine's path towards European integration. We also emphasize that Ukraine and Moldova must move forward together, and we appreciate that Bulgaria shares this stance», — stated Svyrydenko.
She also mentioned that education was a topic of discussion at the meeting.
"The teaching of the Bulgarian language in Ukraine will continue. This is an important element of our mutual respect for national communities," — highlighted the Prime Minister.
Svyrydenko also thanked Bulgaria for its assistance in restoring Ukraine's energy system and for supporting the diversification of supplies and energy security projects.
