Due to low water levels in reservoirs, Ukrhydroenergo is implementing rational strategies to prepare for the heating season.

This was reported by the company’s press service.

"This year, we are witnessing the lowest water reserves in a decade, which is a result of low river flow," the statement reads.

In addition to generating electricity, Ukrhydroenergo is also obligated to supply water to consumers. Therefore, it is crucial for hydropower engineers to maintain a certain water reserve in the reservoirs.

"Unfortunately, the levels are significantly lower than last year. However, the company is doing everything possible to ensure reserves are built up by autumn. To prepare the HPPs and PSPPs for winter, Ukrhydroenergo will use water efficiently to accumulate sufficient reserves," the press service emphasized.

Furthermore, Ukrhydroenergo continues its efforts to restore and enhance the protection of its facilities, while also carrying out planned repairs at the HPPs and PSPPs.

As previously reported, Ukrhydroenergo signed a memorandum of cooperation with the consulting firm PADECO Co., Ltd for the implementation of the Kaniv PSPP project.
