The launch concert for the unique album "Postponed Dreams" by Duo Formula, consisting of renowned musicians Tatiana Pavliuchuk-Tyskevich (piano) and Nazarii Stets (double bass), will take place on February 12 at 18:00 at the Goethe Institut in Ukraine (Kyiv, Lavrska St, 16 L).
This event is unprecedented for Ukraine, as it marks the first professional album of music for double bass and piano since independence.
The album was made possible through the Per Forma grant program from Kyiv Contemporary Music Days, Fonds Podiumkunsten, and the Dutch Ministry of Culture, Education, and Science.
What does the album "Postponed Dreams" include?
Tatiana Pavliuchuk-Tyskevich: The album features a collection of contemporary music specifically written for the duo of double bass and piano. Our collaboration with composers from Hungary, Ukraine, and Argentina has been crucial.
Nazarii Stets: The title "Postponed Dreams" symbolizes hope, as many Ukrainians have lost their dreams during the war. We aim to restore this belief through music, which unites us.
We seek to promote the double bass as both a solo instrument and an equal part in chamber ensembles, highlighting its incredible sonic capabilities.
And about your charitable activities.
Tatiana Pavliuchuk-Tyskevich: Our fund Music Unites aids military personnel, children, and the elderly, showcasing our culture and resilience even in the toughest times.
