Scott Bessent, the US Treasury Secretary, is set to visit Kyiv this week to initiate talks regarding the involvement of American companies in the development of Ukraine's natural resources.

This information comes from Bloomberg, citing its own sources.

Bessent will be the first member of Donald Trump's cabinet to visit Ukraine.

National Security Advisor Mike Voltz stated that the future of US aid to Ukraine will be on the agenda this week.

On February 3, US President Donald Trump expressed interest in striking a deal with Ukraine for the supply of rare earth metals in exchange for military assistance.

President Zelensky later indicated plans to meet with senior US officials.

"We need to recoup these costs, and this will be a partnership with Ukrainians regarding their rare earths, natural resources, oil and gas, as well as purchasing our products", Voltz said during an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press". "These discussions will take place this week", Bloomberg quotes Voltz.
