On Saturday, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported explosions and smoke from an auxiliary facility near the plant.

According to the IAEA, the ZNPP administration informed them that from 9:00 AM, the facility was under attack, including from drones.

The auxiliary facility is located 1200 meters from the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

The IAEA stated: "This incident is the latest in a series of events that have occurred in recent weeks and months, underscoring the potential threats to nuclear safety during the military conflict at the ZNPP".

Grossi stated: "Any attack near a nuclear power station poses a potential threat to nuclear safety, and such actions must be avoided".

He reiterated the call for maximum military restraint around nuclear facilities to prevent the risk of a nuclear accident.

It is worth reminding that Ukraine's First Deputy Minister of Energy Yuriy Sheiko stated that Russia cannot ensure the safe operation of the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP and that their statements are merely attempts to blackmail Ukraine and the international community.

Additionally, 48 IAEA member states issued a joint statement, asserting that any restart of reactors at the ZNPP is only possible after the facility returns to legitimate control and oversight by a competent Ukrainian regulator.
