President Volodymyr Zelensky has officially signed a law concerning sanctions against ships and aircraft involved in the shadow transportation of oil and petroleum products by Russia.

This bill №13020 has been published on the Parliament’s website.

The legislation imposes sanctions on all vessels and aircraft associated with Russia’s shadow oil transportation, weapons, and military goods.

The document amends the Law of Ukraine on “Sanctions” regarding the imposition of sanctions on vessels and aircraft whose activities pose real and potential threats to national interests, security, territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine and intelligence agencies are tasked with detecting and establishing the facts regarding the use of such vessels.

It is regulated that the State Register of Sanctions will include information about all entities, as well as vessels and aircraft that are subject to sanctions.
