Last night, July 23rd, a tragic event occurred involving a dredging vessel operated by the «Delta-Lotsman» branch of the state enterprise «Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine».

The AMPUs press service reported this on Facebook.

The vessel was conducting routine operations at the "Bystre" estuary with a crew of eleven.

As a result of the explosion, three AMPUs employees lost their lives. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. Other crew members are currently hospitalized and receiving all necessary medical assistance.

Emergency services are currently on site. Further details of the incident are being clarified. Additional updates will be provided.

The state-owned «Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine» will ensure all necessary support for the families of the victims and those affected by this tragic event.

The maritime approach channel at the "Bystre" estuary is temporarily closed to navigation. Passage of vessels to/from the Danube region ports is currently being conducted via the Sulina Canal.
