In commemorating the day for fallen medical workers, we remember their contributions to saving lives even in the toughest circumstances.

July 10 marks a new day to honor medical professionals who fell victim to the war, initiated by the team behind the Saint Panteleimon Order.

This day is dedicated to all those who saved lives on the front lines and in the rear, despite the danger and shelling. They worked diligently in hospitals during alarms, fighting for the lives of their patients.

According to statistics, over three years of war, Russian armed forces have claimed the lives of at least 500 medical professionals in Ukraine. These include doctors, nurses, and combat medics who became victims of the conflict.

To honor the memory of the fallen, the project “Light of Memory” is being implemented, aimed at collecting information about medical workers who died during the war.

If you know of a medical worker who has fallen in Ukraine, please send the information to the email: medlib@library.gov.ua

Today, July 10, at 14:00, a signal symbolizing a heartbeat's stop will resonate in hospitals across Ukraine. Following this, there will be a moment of silence to honor the fallen medical workers.

May their memory remain in our hearts.
