At the initiative of the President, the government is launching a new financial support program called «School Kit». Families preparing to send their children to first grade will receive financial assistance of 5000 UAH.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this during a government meeting.
«This financial assistance of 5000 UAH will be provided to those sending their children to school in an offline format», — Shmyhal explained.
According to the Prime Minister, the funds can be spent on school supplies, books, children's clothing, and footwear, which are essential for the school year.
Applications for this assistance can be submitted through the «Diia» app or portal.
Shmyhal emphasized that the process will be «convenient and simple». Funds can only be used in a cashless form at stores selling relevant school supplies.
He also noted that this payment will not affect the receipt of subsidies or other forms of social assistance.
«The Ministry of Social Policy will communicate all the details, including the start date for applications», — added Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister stressed that the launch of the «School Kit» is a part of a broader initiative aimed at creating conditions for Ukrainians to continue living and working in Ukraine.
It was previously reported that Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that the government is developing a comprehensive social support system for families with children, covering all stages from pregnancy to adulthood. This new model aims to replace fragmented programs with a holistic strategy that includes medical, social, and educational support.
