At least 43 people have lost their lives due to devastating floods in Kerr County, Texas, and 27 children are reported missing.

According to Leita, the heavy rains that affected the state have led to 43 fatalities.

During a press conference, Leita stated that among the deceased, there are 28 adults and 15 children. He added that five children and 12 adults have yet to be identified.

Mayor Rice noted that 27 children from Camp Mystic are still considered missing.

Rice's statement: "We anticipated today would be difficult, so our numbers will continue to change.

We are actively working on identification."
