For the first time ever — five significant records of MAGURA drones have been officially documented in the Ukrainian Book of Records.
Representatives from the Ukrainian Book of Records have officially documented five combat achievements that the Ukrainian military intelligence has reached by utilizing MAGURA drones, presenting official certificates to the leadership of GUR.
- first in the world sinking of combat ships by drones;
- first shooting down of a military aircraft by a drone;
- first successful hit on an aerial target by a drone;
- largest number of hits on Russian combat ships: from 2023 to 2024, GUR struck 15 units of the Black Sea fleet;
- largest number of sunk ships and boats.
The official registration of the records took place at the Museum of Military Intelligence of Ukraine, where a new exhibition dedicated to MAGURA drones is being showcased.
Certificates were awarded to the GUR head, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, as well as to the fighters of the “Group 13” unit, who carry out maritime operations using drones.
“We have been observing the development of MAGURA, and I can confidently say: these achievements are unique on a global scale. They demonstrate that Ukraine can create innovations even in the most challenging conditions,” stated Andrii Masyuk, a representative of the Book of Records of Ukraine.
Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov expressed gratitude to the Book of Records and emphasized the effectiveness of MAGURA.
“Every sunk ship and every downed aircraft is a step towards our victory. I want to thank Group 13 for their hard work,” Budanov added.
The commander of the “Group 13” unit thanked Ukrainian engineers for their ingenuity.
“We are fighting against a resource-rich adversary, so any support is especially valuable. Thank you all, particularly the Book of Records, for this recognition,” he emphasized.
Military security expert Mykhailo Honchar also participated in the ceremony.
“MAGURA drones have already set records of combat efficiency. I wish GUR the next record to be underwater, as Russian submarines are eagerly waiting to meet Ukrainian drones,” Honchar remarked.
Andrii Yusov highlighted the strategic importance of the recorded achievements.
“The established records are proof of how Ukraine is changing military history, demonstrating that innovation and courage are stronger than any number of adversaries,” Yusov concluded.
