The Ukrainian border is currently facing a significant crisis regarding fuel customs clearance. Since June 24, market participants have reported delays with fuel trucks.
This information comes from the industry publication enkorr.
According to a source from the Energy Customs, the delays have been caused by failures in the interaction between the State Customs Service and the Tax Service's information systems.
“There is a program at the State Customs that automatically connects to the tax authority's database to verify the presence of a license - this is one of the mandatory conditions for customs clearance. Unfortunately, this connection has been disrupted. The system cannot see the license, which prevents the cargo from being processed,” he stated.
It is expected that the connection between the systems will be restored shortly.
In addition to the technical issues in Ukraine, complications have also arisen on the Polish side. According to carriers, there have been problems with the customs system in Poland as well.
“The software on the Polish side froze, it just started working again an hour ago. During this time, only 15 trucks were able to pass,” reported one of the traders.
