On June 17, the Verkhovna Rada passed a draft law aimed at establishing a new registry for military personnel.
"This is a significant step towards implementing modern methods of accounting and service provision for the military."
The registry is an electronic database that will allow for: faster and more accurate recording of personnel data; automated analytics on reserves; and a reduction in bureaucracy and human error," stated Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
A key innovation is the Military ID, a digital identifier that will enable data exchange between registries without disclosing personal information.
According to Umerov, based on this system, military personnel will eventually be able to access social services, benefits, and bonuses online, including through the Army+ app.
