A grand military parade was held in the US capital to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the army.

This day also marked the 79th birthday of Donald Trump.

The event was the first military parade in the USA in over 30 years.

Among the preparations were M1A1 Abrams tanks, Bradley fighting vehicles, two WWII Sherman tanks, a WWI Renault tank, CH-47 helicopters, 16 UH-60 Black Hawks, and four P-51 airplanes.

Preliminary estimates suggest the parade will cost up to 45 million dollars.

However, critics of the current administration cite much higher figures, suggesting costs could reach 90 million including additional expenses.

Across the United States, demonstrations branded «No Kings» took place.

Protesters voiced their opposition to both the current administration's policies and the military parade as a symbol of authoritarianism, according to a correspondent from Ukrinform.

Rallies occurred in cities including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, New York, Houston, and Seattle.

Notably, Washington was absent from this list as Donald Trump threatened protesters during a White House speech, stating they would face «very strong force» if they disrupted the parade.
