This enables management of water balance and the filling of lakes, their siltation, flooding, or drying out.
To comprehensively study the ecological state of water bodies and identify problematic areas in Kyiv, KP «Pleso» is actively implementing a water level monitoring system, as reported by the organization.
This initiative allows for the control of water balance and the filling of water bodies, their siltation, flooding, or drying. All these criteria are an integral part of the monitoring program, which provides comprehensive information about the state of water resources.
A year ago, a similar monitoring system was introduced at the Rusanivska Bay, with daily data available on the KP «Pleso» website. Continuing our efforts in this direction, we have expanded the monitoring to include additional water bodies.
Currently, measurements are being taken at the following locations: Lake Synye, Lake Holube, the cascade of lakes Opечень (Lake Ptashyne, Lake Yordanske, Lake Kyrylivske, Lake Andriivske, Lake Luhove, Lake Minske), Lake Vira, Lake Bulhakova, Lake Raiduzhne, the river Pochayna, the cascade of lakes along M. Bazhana Avenue, the cascade of lakes in the Troieshchyna area, the Sobache Hyrlo bay, and in the Rusanivska Bay.
Water level measurements are carried out by qualified specialists with fixed periodicity, taking into account the Baltic height system.
Currently, KP «Pleso» in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation of the Kyiv City State Administration, KP «Informatyka», and KTS (the specialized KP «Kyivteleservis») is actively working on the implementation of automatic depth sensors.
This will allow for the integration of the data obtained into the information and communication system «City Integration Platform», ensuring easy access to information.
