Participants of the event ran through the beautiful streets of Krakow, linking the charm of the Polish city with memories of Kyiv.

On May 25, 2025, Kyiv Day, Krakow joined the global charity initiative "Run Under the Chestnuts" for the first time, supporting young patients of the Children's Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. This was reported by the General Consulate of Ukraine in Krakow.

"On this symbolic day, the residents of Krakow show unwavering solidarity with the brave Kyivans who face barbaric attacks daily. Despite the threats, Kyiv remains steadfast, and its residents exhibit incredible resilience. Our charity run in Krakow is not only support for Ukrainian children in need of medical assistance but also a symbol of unity with all Ukrainians heroically defending their land," the consulate emphasizes.

Since 1993, the event has united thousands of people around common humanitarian goals, demonstrating international solidarity and shared responsibility towards Ukrainian children in need.

The General Consul of Ukraine in Krakow, Vyacheslav Voynarovsky, addressed the participants with welcoming words, emphasizing that participation in charitable events of this scale is a significant contribution to rebuilding Ukraine's future and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.

The event was joined by staff from the General Consulate of Ukraine in Krakow, U.S. Consul for Press and Culture Adrian Pratt, the Krakow Waterworks team "Running with Krakowians," head of the Krakow office of the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce Artur Bahlyuk, students from the First Ukrainian School in Krakow, and concerned residents of Krakow.

The organization of the event was made possible thanks to the initiative of Deputy Consul Valentina Kuzmin and young Ukrainian activists in Krakow, Danilo Hnap and Maria Novoselska.

The General Consulate of Ukraine in Krakow expresses heartfelt gratitude to the partners of the event for their support and belief in the common cause: Krakow Waterworks, FruitMood, RendPacoEco, FableCafe, Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, BarberHub, UAinKrakow, Depiltime.

This event once again demonstrated that together we are strong, together we are the heart of Ukraine. International support and solidarity are crucial for Ukraine's recovery and assistance to the most vulnerable citizens.

It is worth noting that last year, the "Run Under the Chestnuts" raised one and a half million hryvnias for the Children's Cardiology Center.
