In various districts of Kyiv, municipal enterprises have established new green spaces – mini parks. This was reported by the Department of Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation of the Kyiv City State Administration.

During the creation of mini parks, the requests of residents and the actual needs of neighborhoods were taken into account. For the second consecutive year, municipal workers are implementing this initiative. Such green areas are appearing where there is a lack of space for relaxation.

When greening the mini parks, priority was given to plants that are resilient to urban conditions, decorative grasses, and perennial flowers, which not only beautify the space but also contribute to improving the ecological state of the urban environment.

According to Olha Manko, acting general director of the Kyivzelenbud, areas near public transport stops, metro stations, and densely populated residential complexes have been selected for the project, as well as sites where small architectural forms (MAFs) have been dismantled.

“Our main goal is to create convenient and accessible green areas where every city resident feels comfortable. The mini parks are equipped with comfortable benches, including barrier-free ones, pedestrian paths, and decorative landscaping,” emphasized Olha Manko.

In total, over 100 trees, 16,300 flowers, 8,700 bushes, and almost 9,000 grasses have been planted within the framework of autumn greening at these locations, covering 7,000 sq. m of lawns.

List of locations where mini parks have been established:

  • Holosiivskyi district – Volodymyr-Lybidskyi Blvd (between Kazymyr Malevych St. and Antonovych St.);
