In Kyiv, a new initiative called «Active Parks - Unstoppable» has been launched to support veterans, their families, and individuals with disabilities affected by war through sports. This was reported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
Currently, there are 31 adaptive sports clubs in Kyiv where participants can engage in activities such as para-hockey, rugby, paintball, petanque, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, yoga, archery, pickleball, and many other sports. The clubs operate on both the left and right banks of the city, and their number is steadily increasing.
«Adaptive clubs are environments of equal opportunities where everyone can experience the power of sports, belief in themselves, and community support,» the Ministry emphasizes.
Additionally, every Saturday and Sunday from 14:00 to 18:00, functional training sessions are held at Kontraktova Square for all interested as part of the «Unstoppable Games» events.
The project is implemented by the State Enterprise «Ukrainian Mass Sports Agency» with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports as part of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine by 2030.
