Ukraine has clarified the procedures for ensuring accessibility at cultural heritage sites.

According to the new regulations, the installation of ramps and elevators on heritage sites can be done through a simplified process, provided that the work does not interfere with structural elements or engineering systems. All installations will adhere to approved scientific project documentation in line with national standards.

“In the capital, we are gradually implementing accessibility not only in new buildings but also in cultural heritage sites. Our goal is to provide equal access for everyone, regardless of age or health status. The Cabinet has simplified the process, and we encourage property owners from cafes to cultural institutions to actively participate in this initiative. Our specialists are ready to assist in creating an accessible environment,” emphasized Anna Starostenko, Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration.
