Children from the National Library of Ukraine have created a unique embroidered shirt for the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Vasyl Maliuk. This project, titled "Embroidery for a Hero", symbolizes gratitude and support.
The shirt was handcrafted in honor of Defender's Day, allowing the children to personally present it during their meeting with Vasyl Maliuk. This gesture reflects the young Ukrainians' desire to express respect for their defenders.
The children were inspired by real operations led by the SBU, particularly the highlighted operation "Web". The original pattern of the embroidery incorporates traditional Ukrainian symbols: the trident, the Cossack cross, and the image of Cossack Mamay, representing spiritual strength.
“This embroidered shirt will protect us during the important missions we are planning. We hold great responsibility for Ukraine's future, and we hope that these children will be part of a peaceful life in our country,” commented the Head of the SBU.
In addition to the embroidery, SBU staff organized a tour for the children to the museum, where they were informed about safety measures and how to avoid manipulation by the enemy.
The initiative "Embroidery for a Hero" began on July 15 in Pereiaslav, and the work on the shirt took two and a half months.
