Today, on the Day of Remembrance for Defenders of Ukraine, Kyiv honors those who fell in the fight for our country's freedom.

Together with the families of the fallen, he laid flowers at the memorial to those who died for Ukraine.

«Today, more than 150 thousand Kyivans are defending our country on the front lines. We are grateful to each of them for their courage in fighting for Ukraine. Eternal memory to all the fallen heroes!» – said Klitschko.

On August 29, Ukraine honors the memory of defenders who perished for independence and territorial integrity.

This date is not random: in 2014, one of the most tragic events of the war occurred – the exit of Ukrainian soldiers from encirclement near Ilovaisk, resulting in the death of hundreds of defenders.

The sunflower has become a symbol of this day, as it blooms in the fields around this time, reminding us of the bravery of our warriors.
