On Ukraine's Independence Day, the ancient art of block printing brought together Ukrainians across 20 countries during the international art initiative titled "IDENTITY SIGNS".
Numerous artisans from Ukraine and abroad participated, forming a live broadcast of cultural unity while simultaneously working on creating their own unique embroidered towels using block printing techniques.
The project was initiated by artist Karina Gaeva.
Partners included the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Department of National Identity, the All-Ukrainian Youth Center, the National Museum of Decorative Arts of Ukraine, and the Museum of Ukrainian Diaspora.
We sincerely thank our museum visitors who participated in the event and joined the block printing workshop, as well as the musicians from Victory Beats, who created a special festive atmosphere during the event.
A particular source of pride was the participation of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporizhians.
We express our gratitude to all defenders of Ukraine for the opportunity to live, create, and love freely!
