In March 2025, the National Bank of Ukraine took action against six banks and three non-bank financial institutions for violations in financial monitoring and currency legislation.
This information was reported by the NBU press service.
Specifically, JSC "MIB" was fined 20.5 million UAH for failing to adequately perform customer due diligence and improperly applying a risk-based approach.
Other banks also faced violations related to deficiencies in customer due diligence, improper application of a risk-based approach, and non-compliance with currency legislation.
"Pivdenny" Bank received an additional fine of 400,000 UAH for inadequately fulfilling its currency supervision obligations.
JSC "Sens Bank" was fined 4.1 million UAH for failing to carry out proper customer checks and deficiencies in applying a risk-based approach.
For systematic late reporting on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CFT), the non-bank financial institution PT "Sunlight Assets and Company" was fined 51,000 UAH.
