Since the beginning of 2025, the company "Naftogaz" has imported around 800 million cubic meters of gas due to hostile attacks and reduced production.
This was reported by the press service of "Naftogaz".
The mentioned volume was announced by acting CEO Roman Chumak during a meeting with the Japanese ambassador to Ukraine, Masashi Nakagome.
"Due to the attacks, part of the gas production was lost, thus our priority is to restore damaged facilities and resume production before the next heating season begins.
Furthermore, the Group continues to import gas to compensate for losses and build sufficient reserves – approximately 800 million cubic meters have been imported since the beginning of the year," the statement said.
Naftogaz also mentioned that work is ongoing with the government and international partners to find funding options for the required gas volumes for the next winter.
Reminder:
Ukraine can import a record 5 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and depletion of reserves.
