On December 5, the Kyiv City Council approved a new development strategy for the capital until 2027. This essential document aims to outline the priorities for Kyiv's future. This was announced by Mykola Povoroznyk, the first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
“The challenges from military actions necessitate a reassessment of our goals and tasks while considering social and economic factors. Despite the difficulties, Kyiv maintains an active development stance, which is crucial for recovery and transformation,” he stated.
A group of experts, comprising over 160 representatives from various sectors, collaborated on updating the strategy. The public, businesses, scholars, and government bodies participated in shaping the new priorities for the city.
Residents of Kyiv also contributed their ideas through the Unified Kyiv Portal, allowing their proposals for future development to be considered. The main directions identified focus on safety, comfort, social support, and economic stability.
The key objectives of the strategy include improving the quality of life, creating a barrier-free environment, and fostering economic growth. The updated strategy also addresses important aspects of social inclusion and equal opportunities for all citizens.
The Department of Economy is working on a detailed action plan for implementing the strategy to ensure the set goals are achieved by 2027.
