By the end of September, Ukrainian farmers harvested 30.423 million tons of grain from 7.2138 million hectares. 63% of the area sown with these crops has been threshed, reports agronews.ua.
Specifically:
- Wheat – 22,525 thousand tons from an area of 5,020 thousand ha;
- Barley – 5,330.3 thousand tons from an area of 1,345.6 thousand ha;
- Peas – 626.6 thousand tons from an area of 266 thousand ha;
- Corn – 964.2 thousand tons from an area of 195.9 thousand ha.
In addition, other grain and pulse crops yielded 859.4 thousand tons from an area of 308.7 thousand ha.
Among the leaders in harvesting:
- Odesa region – 3,687.4 thousand tons from an area of 1,101.1 thousand ha;
- Vinnytsia region – 2,418.9 thousand tons from an area of 436 thousand ha;
- Kirovohrad region – 2,223.8 thousand tons from an area of 541.3 thousand ha;
- Khmelnytskyi region – 2,134.9 thousand tons from an area of 309.6 thousand ha.
Ukrainian farmers have also completed the rapeseed harvest, collecting 3.3 million tons from over 1.27 million ha. The harvest of other technical crops is actively ongoing. For instance, 1.5 million tons of soybeans have been harvested from almost 750 thousand ha. The sunflower crop amounts to 4.1 million tons over an area of more than 2.23 million ha. Additionally, over 1.4 million tons of sugar beets have been harvested from 29 thousand ha.
