In April 2025, Ukrainians sold cash currency amounting to a record $1.54 billion, the highest figure since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
This information is confirmed by the data from the National Bank of Ukraine.
Overall, last month, the volume of currency purchases exceeded sales by $189.51 million. This is the smallest negative balance since August 2023.
The weakening of the hryvnia in April led to a decrease in demand for currency, but at the same time encouraged Ukrainians to sell it more actively.
During the month, the population acquired cash currency worth $1.73 billion, while non-cash currency amounted to $339 million. The sale of non-cash currency totaled $337.3 million.
Since the beginning of 2025, the volume of currency purchases has exceeded sales by $3.35 billion.
