In Kyiv, a report of a robbery at a café in the Dniprovskiy district was received by the emergency line 102. An investigative group and special police unit promptly arrived at the scene.
Officers established that a young man had entered the establishment and, brandishing a gun, demanded cash from the register. After failing to get what he wanted, he attempted to flee, but was stopped by bystanders who alerted the police.
The suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He turned out to be a 20-year-old Kyiv resident in a state of severe intoxication. The police seized his gun for examination.
Investigators from the Dniprovskiy police department, under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv Dnipro District Prosecutor's Office, informed the suspect of charges under part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – robbery committed during martial law. The sanction for this charge carries a penalty of up to fifteen years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
