In the Zaporizhzhia region, an off-duty police officer, under the influence of alcohol, initiated a shooting during a dispute with military personnel, firing at least 13 shots and injuring three, as reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the investigation, on November 23, in one of the settlements in the region, the police officer, inebriated, quarreled with the military, after which he drew his service weapon and opened fire.
Three military personnel sustained injuries and were hospitalized.
On November 24, he was charged with attempted murder of two or more persons (Part 2 of Article 15, Paragraph 1 of Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The prosecution insists on keeping him in custody.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), the shooting occurred in a village near Zaporizhzhia.
The officer, while off-duty and intoxicated, provoked a conflict with a group of soldiers. Initially, he fired several shots indiscriminately at the military personnel.
After the soldiers disarmed him, the officer returned home, retrieved his service weapon, and went back outside. Returning to the scene of the conflict, he fired several more shots at the military, now aiming to hit them. As a result, three military personnel suffered gunshot wounds.
