Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations are looking into the circumstances of a tragic road traffic accident that resulted in the deaths of soldiers from a military unit in the Lviv region. Four servicemen lost their lives in a collision with a truck.
According to preliminary information, on October 30, around 21:15, near the village of Zhyrivka in the Lviv district, the driver of a ‘Nissan’ vehicle with military license plates lost control while turning. The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a truck that was stationary at the time.
As a result of the collision, the driver and two passengers of the ‘Nissan’ were killed, along with a passenger of the truck – also a serviceman who was exiting the vehicle's cabin.
Investigators and operational staff from the DBR examined the scene, collected physical evidence, interviewed witnesses, and initiated a comprehensive investigation to establish all circumstances of the tragedy.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated regarding the incident under Part 2 of Article 415 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violating traffic regulations that caused the death of several individuals).
The procedural supervision is conducted by the Lviv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Western region.
