A 37-year-old coach from a sports club in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district has been arrested for committing sexual offenses against a minor girl with special needs.
Officers from the migration police, in collaboration with investigators from the Kyiv police, uncovered the crimes of this former athlete and founder of a public sports organization.
The investigation revealed that he had been conducting individual training sessions with the girl, exploiting her vulnerable condition to engage in immoral sexual acts.
The police apprehended the suspect during an attempt to commit further immoral acts, in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has announced charges against him under part 4 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for sexual violence against a person under fourteen years of age, regardless of their consent.
He faces up to ten years in prison, and the court has ordered pre-trial detention.
