The incident occurred yesterday around 21:30 at the platform of the «Obolon» metro station in Kyiv.
A group of young individuals attacked a 24-year-old local resident, knocking him to the ground and beating him. Law enforcement intervened and took all involved parties to the police station.
It has been established that the attackers were five teenagers aged between 13 and 17, along with two of their friends aged 19 and 21. They claimed their actions were prompted by the man allegedly insulting their female companion who was present. The police interviewed the minors and returned them to their parents.
The investigative department of the police in the metro has recorded the incident under part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — gross violation of public order motivated by obvious disrespect for society, committed by a group of individuals. All circumstances of the event are being clarified within the initiated criminal proceedings.
