A startling incident occurred in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv when a driver at a transport hub threw a military grenade «F-1» at another taxi around 6 AM. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. However, the offender could face up to seven years behind bars.
The director of the passenger transport company alerted the emergency line «102», explaining that one of his employees had thrown the explosive device at a bus that was just departing on its route.
Law enforcement, bomb disposal experts, and canine units quickly arrived at the scene. Police apprehended a 59-year-old local resident with a criminal history. It turned out that his motive was to intimidate a colleague with whom he had a long-standing dispute.
While the explosion did not cause any casualties, the taxi sustained significant mechanical damage.
Investigators, under the guidance of the district prosecutor's office, charged the suspect under articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for hooliganism and illegal handling of explosive materials. The preliminary investigation has concluded, and the case has been referred to court.
