Vandalism at Khreshchatyk Metro Station

An incident of vandalism was recorded at the Khreshchatyk metro station in Kyiv, where a young man caused damage to advertising equipment.

A young man involved in vandalistic actions at the Khreshchatyk metro station may face up to five years of restriction of liberty.
Law enforcement in Kyiv learned about the incident through social media. A video appeared on a Telegram channel showing an unidentified young man running along the balustrade between the escalators, grabbing onto advertising lights. As a result, he broke one of the lights, causing material damage to the advertising company.
Police identified the offender as a 19-year-old from Cherkasy region, who recently moved to the capital for work.
Currently, investigators have informed the young man of his suspicion under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - vandalism.
