The Security Service of Ukraine conducted a crucial operation that led to the uncovering of an FSB agent within the military. This individual, an officer commanding a drone platoon in the marine infantry on the southern front, turned traitor by providing enemy forces with his unit's coordinates for fire adjustment. Additionally, he organized airstrikes on the positions of his comrades and their ammunition depots. His tasks also included searching for new candidates to recruit into the FSB ranks.
During the investigation, it was found that the traitor attempted to persuade other military personnel to cooperate with the aggressor, reporting this to his curator. SBU officers documented his crimes and took measures to protect military locations in the area of FSB activity. As a result of the special operation, counterintelligence detained the traitor at his unit, seizing a flash drive containing classified information intended for the FSB, as well as two mobile phones used for communication with his curator.
According to the investigation, the Russian special services recruited this military member through his relatives living in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk.
The SBU in Mykolaiv region has charged him under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The traitor is currently held in custody without the right to bail, facing life imprisonment and confiscation of property.
Comprehensive measures were carried out under the procedural guidance of the Mykolaiv Special Prosecutor's Office.
