A tragic car accident took place on Wednesday, July 30, near the entrance to the village of Lebedivka in the Vyshhorod district. The driver of a Toyota Camry lost control, veered off the road, and crashed into a tree.

This was reported by the Kyiv region police.

Law enforcement is investigating all the circumstances surrounding the accident that resulted in the death of a 62-year-old driver. He was not alone in the vehicle; his 57-year-old passenger sustained injuries and received necessary medical care.

Investigators have initiated proceedings under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code — violation of traffic safety rules by the driver resulting in fatal consequences. However, the case may be closed due to the driver's death.

The Kyiv police once again urge drivers to remain attentive behind the wheel, take road conditions into account, adhere to speed limits, and avoid putting themselves and others at risk.
